All the bounty from the property is donated to people of need in the village of Vicabamba. We never use any pesticide or chemicals on the property. We actively use the practice of chop and drop mulching, which has long been a core technique utilized by permaculturists around the world. Much of the coffee produced around the world is subject to the use of heavy pesticides and non-organic fertilizers. Casa ChéChé coffee is never subjected to the use of pesticides or non-organic fertilizers..
Our coffee is 100% arabica. We do have a variety of arabica plants producing both red and yellow berries. And so, our Arabica is both 100% pure and single origin, if you’re looking for a very flavorful cup of coffee.
We harvest fruit 5 to 6 times a year. The fruit is hand picked and hand processed, This allows us to produce an amazing final product.
We roast in very small batches. After experimenting with hundreds of pounds , we have settled on a light French roast. This produces a coffee that is smoother and less bitter with a more delicate flavor. You will actually taste the fruit with hints of chocolate.
We grow many organic fruits and vegetables. You will find, oranges, pomelo, nectarines, sour orange, grapefruit, tomate de árbol, pitahaya, guayaba and guava, banana, mango, papaya......
